Description

Stool 60, the stool par excellence, was designed by Alvar Aalto in the early 1930s. The simple three-legged structure is obtained by bending the solid birch wood at right angles, with a circular top.
The stool is a practical object in terms of space, being also stackable, and has become the quintessence of design by combining elegance and functionality. The Stool 60 stool is in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, for its simplicity and innovative technology.
